After residing in South Park, PA for 25 years, Cheryl and Tim moved to Houston, Texas in 2017. Cheryl earned her wings on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, in Houston, Texas at the age of 53.
She is survived by her husband, Timothy W. Smith of Cypress Texas; sons, Zachary Smith (Nicholle) of Bel Air, Maryland, and Benjamin Smith of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and brother, Glenn Walters of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Cheryl will be held at WILLIAM SLATER II FUNERAL SERVICE, 1650 Greentree Rd., Scott Twp 15220 (412-563-2800), Friday, August 6 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Community Presbyterian Church located on Greentree Road on Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 AM.∼Cheryl Walters Smith was born on June 19, 1968 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Lois Witte Walters. On June 13, 1992, she married Timothy W. Smith in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Cheryl was a 1990 graduate of Wittenberg University. From 1990 through 2017, Cheryl worked as a Travel Agent, and Church Administrator. Cheryl believed her most important Job was to be a mom to her two kids, and she volunteered whenever she could to support their interests. Cheryl and Tim moved to the Houston, Texas area in 2017. Cheryl loved to travel and was an excellent event planner. She enjoyed spending time drinking coffee with her friends and reading. She and Tim were members of Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church in Katy. She had a passion for the wellbeing of animals and volunteered her time at the Houston SPCA.
