Char Line P. Folk, 78, of Hilton Head, S.C., died at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at Hilton Head Hospital.

She was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Hammond, the daughter of C.A. and Myrtle May Williams Patterson.

She was a 1946 graduate of Oakwood High School. She received a bachelor's degree in science from Illinois State University and a master's degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

On May 13, 1951, she married J. William Folk in Fithian, IL.

She lived in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Georgia before settling in South Carolina the last 18 years.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Melissa Folk of Atlanta, Ga; a brother, Clerance A. Patterson of Palm Desert, Calif.; and two sisters, Mary Lou Anderson and Pat Anderson, both of Stevenson, Mich.

Char Line was preceded in death by one son, Charles Folk.
