Julie Kay Anderson (White), age 63, died peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday July 28th, 2021 at home in Lincoln, NE after a courageous battle with ALS. Julie was born on May 9th 1958 in Rockford, Illinois to Kenneth and Bernice White. She met her husband Mark Anderson while at Northern Illinois University, and they were to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary Sunday, August 8th.

Recently Julie spent as much time as she could with her family and those close to her. But Julie's legacy will always be remembered as the work she did for others. She began teaching Lamaze when she and Mark moved to Lincoln, and did so for 28 years. She was also very proud of the work she was able to do running the Young Families program at Lincoln Medical Education Foundation (now Partnership). And most recently enjoyed working at the Lincoln Lancaster County Health Department educating others regarding safety issues, until ALS forced her to retire.

Julie loved her church, loved being a PEO sister (chapter CS-DK), was an avid book club member, and loved the ladies in her Chicas Beach club. Julie was taken too soon from all of us, but she lived a full life, and will be remembered for each community and life she touched.

Julie is survived by her husband, daughter Rachel (husband Chris) Heise and son Matthew (wife Tessa) Anderson and her favorite three grandchildren Reagan, Mackenzie, and Elijah.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday August 4th at 1 pm at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 6024 L St, Lincoln, NE, the service will also be streamed through the church Facebook page. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be given to the following organizations in Nebraska; ALS in the Heartland or ALS Association Mid-America Chapter, First Evangelical Covenant Church youth programs, and Planned Parenthood. Julie requested that only those vaccinated be in attendance for the services.
