Billie Nadine (Green) Young, of Everton, Arkansas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the age of 84. The daughter of Bill and Minnie Green was born on March 25, 1937, in Sterling City, Texas.

Billie met the love of her life and future husband, Allen Young, in San Angelo, Texas and they married in 1958. After living in Texas and Tennessee, they moved to Boone County, Arkansas in 1962. She was a dedicated homemaker, a wonderful cook, and a talented seamstress. After her children were raised, Billie began working at the Valley Springs Head Start. She retired in May 2005, spending over 25 years teaching and molding countless children as if they were her own.

She stayed active in her community serving in various roles such as the Everton Community Correspondent for the Harrison Daily Times, a leader for the Everton 4-H Club, the Extension Homemakers Club, and the Valley Springs PTA. She also served as Secretary-Treasurer for the Valley Springs Volunteer Fire Department for over 20 years.

Billie was the matriarch of her family and they adored her. She was known as being devoted, genuine, dedicated and selfless. Her family loved her homemade biscuits every morning and enjoyed homemade desserts. Billie was an avid supporter of local sports and her family's endeavors, especially her grandkids and son-in-law, traveling all over the state to watch them compete. She loved her family and was proud of her kids and grandkids and their many accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Bernice Smith and her brother, Joe Green.

Billie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Allen Young; her three children, Sandy (Phillip) Roberts, Ron (Lisa) Young and Kim (Shawn) Shelton; seven grandchildren, Brent (Kelsey) Young, Mason Young, Katlyn Roberts, Joanna (McCartney) Paul, Cheyenne (Troy) Morrow, Shelayna and Drew Shelton; two great-grandchildren, Parker and Teagan Young; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Green, Evelyn and Janie Young; a brother-in-law, Dene Young and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives and many friends who will miss her.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 2, at Crawford Cemetery with Bro. Dave Smith officiating.

Visitation will be private.

Pallbearers are family. Honorary pallbearers are the Nurses of Legacy Hospice.
