PRINCETON — Mr. Dual L. Hill, 96, of the Glenwood Retirement Village, formerly of the Old Athens Road, Princeton, died Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Born May 11, 1911, in Princeton, he was the son of the late Shannon and Beulah Walker Hill.
Mr. Hill graduated from Princeton High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army in Europe. Mr. Hill retired as Postmaster of the Princeton Post Office in 1972 after many years of service with the Postal Service.
Mr. Hill was a devoted member of the Melrose Presbyterian Church, near Princeton, where he had served as an Elder. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Mr. Hill was a member of the B.P.O.E., Princeton Lodge No. 1459.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all his siblings: Dale Hill, Delma Wood, Ruth Higgins, Kathleen Crotty, Trixie Connor, Jackie Whitaker and Reba Hill.
Survivors: His wife, Odessa Laura Houchins Hill of the Glenwood Retirement Village, whom he married on August 2, 1928; children: Two sons and spouses, Stanley and Brenda Hill of Frederick, Md., Roger and Sharon Hill of Okaloosa Island, Fla. and Archdale, N.C.; six grandchildren, Sherri Thomas and Craig Hill both of Frederick, Md., Kevin Hill of Wichita, Kan., Travis Hill of Durham, N.C., Jason Hill of Greensboro, N.C., Matthew Hill of Archdale, N.C.; five great grandchildren.
On Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m., we will celebrate the life of Mr. Dual Hill from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Pastor J.D. Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Courthouse Road in Princeton.
