Irene T. Kelly (Ploof-Bombard), age 83 years of Latham, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2021, at The Daughters of Sarah Nursing Center, with her loving family by her side. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Rufus and Helen Bombard. Irene was married to the late Ernest "Ernie" Ploof who preceded her in 1970, and the late Robert "Bob" Kelly who passed away in 2018. Irene was employed in the 1950s at St. Peter's Hospital and later in 1970s at The Albany Airport Coffee Shop. Irene enjoyed bowling playing bingo the game of bunco and the winters she spent in Florida, but most of all she truly cherished the family time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Irene is survived by her children, Michele (late Raymond) Haupt, Sherri (Ron) Mutch, and Todd (Kim) Ploof; her stepchildren, Mike (Wendy) Kelly, Patrick Kelly and Barbara (Jeff) Tedesco; as well as her beloved grandchildren, Carrie (Dan), Kristen (Zack), Raymond (Chelsea), Bailey, and Hunter M.; and her step-grandchildren, Heather (Paul), Brandon, Ryan and Tara. She is also survived by her seven adored great-grandchildren; and her loving sister, Barbara Kelly. She was predeceased by her sister Lorraine Bombard; step-grandson Bradd Kelly; her brother-in-law Larry Kelly; and her cherished canine companion, Daisy. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Irene's family on Friday, July 30, from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at The Bowen & Parker Brothers Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Rd., Latham. Funeral services for Irene will be celebrated on Friday, July 30, at 12 p.m. at the conclusion of the visitation at the funeral home. Bishop Jonathan Gray will officiate. Interment will take place next to her beloved Bob in St. Agnes Cemetery in Menands.
