A graveside service for Paula LeVon Bridgeman Franklin, 94, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Forest Park Cemetery, St. Vincent. Officiating the service will be Dr. Jeff Raines.

Paula LeVon, the youngest of five sisters, was born on April 11, 1927 to Bertha Harvey and Furman Bridgeman in Homer, Louisiana and passed away in her home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She moved to Shreveport, Louisiana in 1944. Her first job was at the 7-Up Bottling Company, owned by Lawrence Johnson Franklin, Sr. After many years of friendship, she and Lawrence married in 1961 and continued to work side-by-side until they sold the business to The Coca Cola Bottling Company a few years later. Mr. Franklin passed away in 1972, and Paula LeVon raised two girls, Susan and Paula, on her own. She was a truly dedicated mother, and later, a beloved grandmother. She cherished the visits of her grandchildren to Shreveport, and they will always remember her for her "grandma peas", "grandma bread" and the fun projects she planned for them.

Paula LeVon treasured her family, friends, neighbors and the home where she lived for 61 years. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Shreveport for over 50 years. Recently, she had been inducted into the Daughters of the American Revolution, (DAR).

Paula LeVon is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Johnson Franklin, Sr.; her parents and her sisters, Faye Doty, Vivian Doyle, Angie Williams and Maxine McNees. She is survived by her daughters, Paula Franklin and Susan Franklin Veillette and husband, James; her step-children, Anne Franklin Beach and Lawrence Johnson Franklin, Jr.; her grandchildren, Emily Veillette and John Veillette; her step-grandchildren; nephews and other close friends and relatives. She also leaves behind her much-loved Siamese kittens, Mabel and Maisie, who brought her much joy in the last year of her life.
