Mr. Wood of Wilmington was born the son of the late Clarence and Tylean Mitchell Wood. Mr. Wood was a member of Masonboro Baptist Church and served with the US Army Airborne during World War II. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Sweeney. He died at Lower Cape Fear Hospice & Life Care Center at age 83.
