Sgt. Calvin Lee Latham, 46, of Parkersburg, went to be with the Lord, November 19, 2007 at his residence. He was born October 12, 1961 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama a son of Mattie Cabbil Latham of Parkersburg and the late Johnny Will Latham. He was Christian by faith and served his country very
faithfully with 27 years of service in the United States armed forces including the Army, the Army Reserves, and the National Guard in which he served with the 1092nd in Iraq for one year.
He is survived by his son, Jordon Latham of South Carolina; three brothers, Charles Latham of Parkersburg, Johnny L. Latham and wife Cheryl of Marietta, and Promise Cabbil of Elyria, Ohio; five sisters, Wazetta Davis and husband Kevin of Parkersburg, Michell Diane and husband Allen of Cleveland, Victoria Latham, Cynthia Latham, and Jennifer Williams all of Alabama; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a very special cousin, Robert Pete Cabbil.
Services will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at The Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Paul Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery with graveside military rites by the West Virginia Honor Guard. Visitation will be Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
