Joseph E. Garber, 72, of Lowpoint died Wednesday morning, July 5, at Eureka Hospital where he had been a patient for 16 days. He was born in Lowpoint May 21, 1895, the son of Valentine and Lena Camp Garber.
He married Frieda Cordes July 16, 1920, and she died Sept 23, 1930.
He then married Lenna Humphrey on July 19, 1953, and she survives.
He lived in Lowpoint all his life and was secretary-treasurer of the Illinois Hereford Association and had received their Man of the Year Award.
Services were Saturday at Metamora Mennonite Church, the Rev Roy Bucher officiating.
Burial was in Steward-Harmony Cemetery.
