ROCHELLE — Kay Frances Potts Barnes, 82, passed away Thursday, July 29 at Rochelle Rehab and Health Care.
Kay was born Feb. 24, 1939, in Rochelle, the daughter of Hugh and Blanche (Mickley) Potts.
In 1959, Kay started working for Morgan Yarns, later Caron International, where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by all who knew her.
Kay is survived by three children, Randy Wallace, Joseph (Annette) Barnes and Scott Barnes; eight grandchildren, Tara Reese, Nina (Carl) Gleen, Jacob (Diavel) Wallace, April Wallace, Jazmin (Steven) Stanfa, Brandon Barnes, Abigayle Bernardin and Dillon Barnes; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Roselyn King, Nancy (Steve) Dodson and Mary Ellen Templeman; two brothers, Larry (Jenny) Potts and Mike (Kellie) Potts and lifelong friends, Rose Powers, Vicki LaRue and Mary Phelps.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Desirae Turner for the care she gave to Kay.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Hugh Robert "Bob" Potts and a lifelong friend, Gladys Barnes.  
A funeral service will at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, at the Unger-Horner Funeral Home, 400 N. 6th Street in Rochelle with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating. Visitation will be from 10 - 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Cremation care will be provided after the service.
