Mr. Ed Lonzo Smith, Jr., age 52 of Talking Rock, passed away on Thursday July 29th, 2021 at Piedmont Mountainside in Jasper.

Mr. Smith was born in Cherokee County on October 2nd, 1968 to the late Ed Lonzo Smith, Sr. and Thelma Lorene McArthur Smith. Mr. Smith was employed as a heavy equipment operator with N.J Wilbanks Co. 

Survivors include his life partner, Martha Smith; three sons, Lonnie Smith, Chauncy Smith, and Billy Mewborn (Kathy); three daughters, Tiffany Smith, Brittany Mejia (Oscar), and Tonya Teague; one brother, Alex McArthur; three sisters, Darlene Holtzclaw (Eddie), Betty Blankinship (Kiley), and Bobbie Gail Fouts (Everett); seventeen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews, and his precious pet pig, Annie, who he loved very much; special nephew, Willie Holtzclaw. 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday August 1st, 2021 at 2 PM at Harvest Missionary Church with Rev. Glen Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Saturday July 31st from 9 AM until 9 PM.
