Wanda Jenean Bushnell Anderson, 73, of Sulphur, LA, passed away at 2:12 PM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in a local hospital, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Anderson was born February 29, 1948 in Kinder, LA, was raised in Westlake, LA, and has lived in Sulphur, LA for over thirty years. She worked as a nurse's aide at High Hope Nursing Home, West Cal-Cam Hospital and for LSU Family Practice for over fifteen years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of Westlake United Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed singing with her family, hunting for antiques and Elvis memorabilia, and remodeling homes. Her true passion in life was for her family, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and enjoyed having everyone together.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of fifty years, John W. Anderson, Jr.; sons, Ricky Burgess and wife Katy of Ragley and John W. Anderson, III and wife Tammy of Moss Bluff; daughters, Tammy Thompson and husband Gary of Ragley, LA and Elly Benoit of Sulphur; brothers, William "Bill" Bushnell and wife Peggy of Ragley, LA, Larry Bushnell and wife Ruth Ann of Westlake, LA, and Wesley Bushnell and wife Peggy of Jasper, AR; sister, Glenda Schultz and husband Durl of Tennessee; grandchildren, Chase Burgess and wife Kristen, Kevin Anderson, Alexis Anderson, Haley Johnson and husband Jimi, Dalton Thompson and wife Camrie, Nicolas Gary and wife Stephanie, Madison Hattersley and husband Dakota, and Karleigh Benoit; and great-grandchildren Hannah, Wes, Gunnar, Fynli, Kinlee, Wyatt, Daxton, Barrett, Haegan, Parker, and Everleigh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Evans "Bud" and Lela Johnson Bushnell; and grandchildren, Cory Burgess, Gary Thompson, Jr., and Blake Anderson.

Her funeral service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff. Reverend Glen Cooley will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and continue on Tuesday from 8:30 AM until the start of the service.
