Larry Wayne Snider passed away June 27, 2021.
Larry was born February 13, 1956 in Mansfield TX to a Christian family with hard work ethics. His parents, Sam and Jo, were not blessed financially, but with strong family and Christian values. They raised their own food, Jo canning from the garden everything they needed to enjoy year-round. Larry worked from a young age developing strong work ethics he adhered his entire life. His work career began with Gearhart Oil Industries at the age of 18. Gearhart was acquired by Halliburton and throughout many layoffs and changes in the oil industry he ended up retiring in 2017 after 43 years of loyal service without ever taking a sick day. Larry was loved by everyone who knew him. He seemed to know someone everywhere he went. He was Facebook friends with many employees at the Burleson HEB where he was considered an "unpaid" employee. He had a kind heart and willing to help others anytime he could. One day he noticed a couple at HEB trying to figure out how to get the bench they bought loaded in their car. He solved their problem by loading it up in his truck and taking it to their home, refusing payment. Outside of work Larry also worked hard at enjoying sports, his yard, around the house and spending time with his wife, dogs, his kids and grandkids.

He loved playing softball in his younger years, then later it was golf, especially after retirement. Two of his golfing buddies were Brad Reeves and Tim Willis both for Halliburton. He also played with his son, Nick's golf group, including Jack Hunt who officiated at his service. Larry meticulous about his yard. He worked hard to keep his lawn green and well-manicured. He kept the flowers watered and alive that Robin brought home, but gripped that she bought them but he had to take care of. But they did survive due to him. He hand-dug a koi fish pond using a pickax and shovel. It included a waterfall, water lilies and multiple koi and goldfish. 4th of July was his favorite holiday as meant something special. For years he worked for weeks getting the fireworks prepared for a spectacular show on that day. The hard work was worth it and many people came to celebrate with the brisket Larry made. Larry was a faithful and devoted husband for 35 years. He helped in the house, worked outside and generally a homebody. He spoiled Robin by doing 99% of the grocery shopping and cooking. She said her favorite restaurant was at home with him cooking. He was supportive of helping with Robin's work in dog rescue. He would have tears when a special dog would leave his home when they found their forever home. However, he did have his limits. Robin found this out when she brought a dog home that made the number at that time 13. Larry was proud of his 3 children, Nick, Cliff and Bri. He coached baseball for the boys for years, along with his best friend, David Smith. He was especially proud of his 4 grandchildren, Kaiya, Bentley, William and Olivia. He was the best Papa to each, with special connection to each one in his own way. Larry will be missed by more people than we will know. He left us suddenly, way too young. However, we believe that is how he wanted it in order to save the ones he loved a long-drawn-out heart with a lingering illness. We love you Larry Wayne Snider. Our hearts are breaking without you here but are at peace that you are not gone and have gone to your heavenly home. You will always be with us and we look forward to seeing you again.
