Pete Vincent was born to Ernest and Grace (Royer) Vincent on July 1, 1912, in Page County, Iowa. His father had previously been married and had one daughter, a half-sister of Pete named Ina Maxine Vincent. Ernest and Grace had a daughter named Mina Vincent, a full sister of Pete. Ernest died and his mother Grace remarried Charles Erwin Edmonson and had daughters (half-sisters of Pete) named Joyce, Mary, and Rose Marie Edmonson. Pete became a machine operator and enjoyed making a variety of useful items. He married Reatha Rose and they raised their son, Don, in Portland, Oregon. Pete and his wife belonged to the Rose City Yacht Club for many years and enjoyed boating on the Columbia and Willamette rivers in Oregon. He enjoyed playing the banjo and the harmonica, and he loved singing and visiting with his friends and family. Pete passed away on January 18, 1988, and his ashes were scattered on the Columbia River where he had spent so many happy days boating.
