David went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the age of 53. David was a life-long resident of Gadsden, AL, and a graduate of Emma Sansom High School and Auburn University. He served his community as a pharmacist for over 25 years. David loved serving his Lord as an active member of the worship ministry at Meadowbrook Church. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest joys. David was well-known for his world-famous hugs, generosity to those around him, infectious laughter, and his whole-hearted love for Auburn University.

David is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Hobson Stapp.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, daughter and son, mother, and sister, Nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A Celebration of Life service was July 29 Meadowbrook Church at 6:00pm.
