Memories from Juanita C. Kandi.
"From the time I was quite young I was told to address David Hugo Landis as "Uncle Tom" and his wife as "Aunt Ruth" out of respect to them. They had moved from Neosho to Oklahoma. As I recall, Uncle Tom worked in the oil fields. But I may be wrong. When Uncle Tom retired, they moved back to Neosho. They had been planning their 50th wedding anniversary (t might have been their 60th, I'm not sure). Milton and Faye had flown up from either New Mexico or Oklahoma the day before their anniversary Uncle Tom was visiting with Milton. Aunt Ruth and Faye were preparing dinner. Uncle Tom just suddenly died in his chair. A very unexpected and very sad moment. My parents were called immediately, even though we lived in Washington State.

They only had one son, whom I only knew as "Uncle Milton." He was my father's cousin. I believe his given name was David Milton Landis. He was married to "Aunt Faye" Landis.

He was an engineer working on something to do with nuclear energy. Aunt Faye was a teacher. They lived in New Mexico near Shiprock, NM. My parents, brother, and I visited them there in the 1950's. When Dad walked into the office to tell him we had arrived, the receptionist at first thought he was Milton, because Dad and Milton looked like twins even though they were cousins.

They had five children around my brother's and my ages (we were born in 1944 and 1947 respectively). I believe Milton and Faye lived also in Texas at some time.
