A funeral service celebrating the life of Callie A. Harmon, 89 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 88 N. Fifth Street, Newark with Rev. Barbara Salyers and Pastor Wes Humble officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Zanesville Memorial Park.

Mrs. Harmon passed away Monday, July 26, 2021 at the Selma Markowitz Care Center. She was born November 8, 1931 in Scott Depot, WV to the late Dalton F. and Myrtle A. (McCallister) Dent.

A 1949 graduate of New Concord High School, Mrs. Harmon later graduated from Muskingum College and Bethesda School of Nursing in 1952. She worked as a Registered Nurse retiring in 1997 from the Hoover Company. She was a member of the Bethesda Alumni Association; First United Methodist Church, where she was part of the Candle Lighters; and the Hebron-Buckeye Lake Seniors.

Survivors include her sons, Robert (Sandy) Harmon of Newark, OH, Roche (Dawn) Harmon of Dalton, OH; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Harmon; a daughter, Deborah D. Harmon; a brother, Dalton F. Dent, Jr.; and a sister, Lillian Roberts.
