The deceased was a native of Germany but has resided In thlis country the greaterr part of his life. l-lo has one sister in America and a number of relatives in the Fatherland. Several of his nephews are serving in the army and worry over them is thought to have weakened him until he was unable to withstand his illness.
Peter was born in Germany to Peter and Anna Marie (Schaad) Gartst. He married Elizabeth Burkhardt on 14 Dec. 1871 in Germany.
While at the bedside of his father, Sebastian Garst was seized with an attack of heart failure and it was with great difficulty that his life was saved.
