Joseph entered the United States Army on November 14, 1944. Serving his country until he was honorably discharged as a PFC on April 1, 1946. After serving his country, he began working for Nabisco Shredded Wheat, where he was an oven operator for 42 years until his retirement. He enjoyed gardening, playing golf and was an avid reader. Joseph will be remembered for his amazing sense of humor and his wealth of knowledge.
He is survived by his wife, Renate (Kruger) Collins; children, Heidi Elliott and Brian(Tawnya) Elliott; grandchildren, Thomas (Vanessa) Walters, Keelin Wilkins, Owen Elliott and five great grandchildren. Also survived by several cousins.
