Mrs. Betty Imogene Redding Newman age 88 of Thomaston Ga., passed away Saturday July 24, 2021 at her residence.

Mrs. Newman was born on April 1, 1933 in Pavo Ga., to the late William Edgar Redding, and the late Essie Mae Key Redding. She was formerly employed with Wal-Mart where she worked as a door greeter for many years. Mrs. Newman was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Barnesville Ga., and the Upson Regional Medical Center Auxillary serving as a Pink Lady. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Lawrence Newman Jr.

Survivors include her daughters Mrs. Connie Newman (Everett) Sawyer of Greenville Ga., Miss. Sandra Denise Newman of Thomaston Ga., sons Colonel (Retired) Larry (Dorothy) Newman of Knoxville Tn., Rev. Allen (Jeri) Newman of Barnesville Ga., brothers Mr. Tommy Redding of Pavo Ga., Mr. Eddie Redding of Pavo Ga., 8 grandchildren; Jennifer, Travis, Katie, Andy, Will, Amanda, Brian and Scott. 12 great grandchildren; Simon, Phillip, Matthew, Jace, Allie, Caleb, Amelia, Atlas, Lauryn, Brayden, Alex and David.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Coggins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Coggins Funeral Home on Saturday July 31, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
