~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Her spunky spirit lit up the room. Her knowledge of people and determination made her the ultimate problem solver. Her love made her the best wife, mother and grandmother her family could ever ask for. Doris Anderson was a woman who could handle any situation, whether it was killing armadillos in the yard or taking care of special needs patients. Doris loved a relaxing day at the beach and tending to her chickens. She put her family first and would do anything to protect them. Doris has battled cancer for the past 11 years. She rarely complained and always kept a positive attitude about the situation. Earlier this year they discovered the cancer had reached her brain. Doris never quit fighting. She remained optimistic to keep her husband and children in good spirits. On July 26, 2021, Doris succumbed to the cancer and was eternally relieved of the illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harlow and Omie Alderman Kerce and her sister, Julianne Palmer.
A celebration of Doris' life will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, August 2nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lake Butler. The family will receive friends for a visitation beginning at 10:00am. Doris will be laid to rest after the service at New Zion Cemetery.
