Joan Tolleson Campbell, 58, went home to be with the Lord on July 26, 2021 after a short but hard-fought battle with brain cancer. Visitation will be Sunday, August 1 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Services will be Monday, August 2 at 10:00am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Vicksburg with burial in Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko at 2:30pm.

Joan was born on April 5, 1963 in Carthage, MS to her parents, Aaron and June Tolleson. She grew up in McAdams, MS in Attala County and graduated from Kosciusko High School. She attended Holmes Community College and Hinds Community College in later years. She moved to Vicksburg where she raised her children. Over the years, she worked at Ford Motor Credit, MS Financial, Stylecrest and Promise Hospital where she made many life-long friends along the way.

Joan had a magnetic personality and a contagious laugh. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and be steadfast friends before she left them. She certainly lived her life to the fullest!

Her loves in life were her family, her friends, horses and travel. Her children were her heart and her love for her entire family was deep and unmistakable. She was a fierce protector and encourager. If you were a friend of Joan's, you knew beyond a shadow of a doubt you were loved and that you could depend on her to do anything needed for you.

She always had a passion for horses (not fully understood by some of her family) and she was blessed to be able to spend the last few years of her life doing what made her happy — trail riding on her horse, Romeo, and her mule, Cletus. She rode on trails in Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Arizona and Utah and had a loving group of friends she met on the trails.

It was often said that Joan was born with wheels on! She got her desire for travel from her dad and there are not many sights in the U.S. that she missed. She particularly loved California and the Southwest U.S. but closer to home, she never missed an opportunity to go to Destin, FL.

Preceding her in death were her father, Aaron Tolleson and her special aunt, Mary Anne Casey. She is survived by her husband, Jerry and her children, David (Tucson, AZ), Fisher and his finance Dayton Jennings (Austin, TX) and Mary Hannah (Destin, FL). She is also survived by her mother, June Tolleson (Kosciusko, MS), her sister, Pam McLemore (Gluckstadt, MS), her brother, Randy Tolleson and his wife Denise (Columbus, MS) and a sister-in-law, Mary Campbell Stewart and her husband John (Carlisle, PA) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She will be deeply missed by numerous cousins that were so special to her.
