Richard Arden Gray was born in Yuba City, Ca. to Arden and Marion Gray. Growing up he attended public school and finished his education at Yuba College with a Bachelor's degree in public administration. After college, he married his high school sweetheart Roberta. They had 4 children. Mark, Laura, Deborah, and Lisa. Deborah and Laura preceded him in death. Richard served in the United States naval reserve, before joining the California Highway Patrol in 1958. During this time, He served in several offices throughout the state of California for approx. 30 years. At the end of his career, he retired at the rank of Lieutenant and as the area commander of the Chico area office. After retiring he delivered motorhomes with his wife for a business. At times, they also toured the country in their own personal motor home seeing many places. Richard made a decision in November of 2020 to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. After that, he began attending the local Calvary Chapel in Chico and sharing his faith with family, friends, and others. Richard passed away on July 19th, 2021 of natural causes. He is in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ experiencing total peace and joy.

A service in the future will be held at Glenn Oaks Memorial Park and the Chico Calvary Chapel. Times and dates to be announced later.
