Shirley Dean Helton Butler, 85, of Newton, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021, at her residence. She was born September 20, 1935 in Gaston County, a daughter of the late Mack Helton and Georgie Hopper Helton. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and retired from McCreary Modern as a sewer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Baxter Cilley Butler, Sr.; son, Baxter C. Butler, Jr.; brothers, Mack and George "Armon" Helton; sister, Carolyn Peeler; an infant brother and sister; and loving companion, Paul Ingram.
She is survived by:
Sons: Rodney Butler and wife, Hiroko of Elon, NC, Dennis Butler of Milton, FL, and Bobby Butler and wife, Kelli of Newton
Four grandchildren: Chris Butler, Yuuki Butler, Seth Butler, Olivia Butler
One great grandchild: Maddy Butler
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Woodlawn Baptist Church, Conover N.C. with Dr. Ed Yount and Pastor Shea Pennington officiating. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Goshen Presbyterian Cemetery in Belmont, N.C.
