Mary "Lib" Crane, 95, of the Garden City Neighborhood of Roanoke, gained her angel wings on Monday, July 26, 2021.
She was born September 9, 1925 in Sanford, NC, daughter of the late Herbert Jones and Ida Williams Brown. Her husband, Beverly L. Crane, a granddaughter, Courtney Allison Crane, two daughters-in-law, Judy Crane and Barbara Crane; and her brother, James H. Brown, also preceded her in death.
Mary loved tending her flower and vegetable gardens. Canning the produce to share with her family and neighbors. She belonged to 2 quilting groups, one at Garden City Baptist and the other at Red Hill Baptist. She was an active, long time member of Garden City Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching the kids at Vacation Bible School and Sunday School.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Crane Gordon; three sons, James Wayne Crane Beverly L. Crane, Jr., Anthony Calvin Crane (Sharon); 8 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; other family members and friends.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Medi Home Hospice for their kind care.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Pastor John Sweeney will officiate and interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 5-7 pm at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
