JoAnne (Hakola) Williams
March 19, 1951 - July 22, 2021 (age 70)

A joyous reunion took place the evening of July 22nd, 2021, as JoAnne (Hakola) Williams, lifelong resident of Painesville, laid her earthly burdens down at LakeMed Care and Rehabilitation in Painesville Township and was united with her Lord and Savior, as well as with many beloved friends and family who had gone before her.

JoAnne was born a 7-1/2 month preemie March 19th, 1951, to the late Oswald C. and Karen A. (Keskinen) Hakola. She was not expected to live, but her Finnish sisu prevailed. She grew to be a lover of both Gospel and Rock n Roll music, particularly the Gaither Family and The Raspberries, but kept memories of the classical piano pieces her mother played in her youth. In her better days, JoAnne enjoyed cooking, collecting family photographs, and attending worship services as a member of Gateway COGIC, Greater Faith Tabernacle, and later St. Gabriel's Catholic Church. She was an involved mother, sister, and friend to the very end and called her love ones daily, just to "spend time with them". Her lively storytelling skills will be missed.

She joins in Heaven her parents: firstborn son, Dale Donato, Jr.; husband Marvin Gene Williams; and beloved grandparents and friends. Keeping her memory here include her daughter Jennifer (Sean) Garrison of New Mexico; son Christopher (Lyndsay) Pauler of Mentor, sister Janice Katila and nephew, "Sinko" Carl Katlia, III of Ft. Washington, PA; niece, Susan Katila of Encino, CA; grandchildren Karina, Nathan, Charlotte, and Daniel Garrison; Katie Pauler and Nicholas (Amber), Courtney, and Brandon Donato; great grandson, Jibri Dyer, and many beautiful souls who claimed her as a friend.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 29, 2021 at Riverside Cemetery, 398 Riverside Drive, Painesville.
