Daniel "Dan" Lee Barrett, age 79 of York, NE died Monday, July 26, 2021 at Lincoln, NE. He was born December 28, 1941 in York to Martin and Marie (Winterhalter) Barrett. Dan was a partner in Barrett Brothers Welding in York for many years. A member of Emmanuel Lutheran church in York, he enjoyed trapshooting and was as a 30-year volunteer at the York Gun Club. He was also a member of the York County Agricultural Fair Board, Noon Sertoma Club, NAFM, NRA, he taught Hunters Safety Education for over 30 years, and was involved in the York 4-H, along with several other York area clubs and organizations.

On January 19, 1968 he was married to Evelyn "Evie" Schmeiding at Utica.

He is survived by his wife Evie of York, son Tyler (Joyce Thomas) Barrett also of York, Grandchildren include, Sierra (Amber) Barrett, Natasha (Stephan) Barrett, Kevin, Tiffany, Matthew, Maline and A.J. Great Grandchildren are Kayden, Nevaya, Sapphire, Wyatt, Jason, Vera and Gabriel. He is also survived by his brother Roy (Judy) Barrett of Lincoln, niece Cari (Todd) Berner of Seward, along with brothers and sisters -in-law and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jason, parents-in-law Wilbert & Lorna Schmeiding, sister and brother-in-law Jean and August Lehmann.
