He is preceded in death by his parents, along with sisters Robbie Hobbs and Marilyn Dickson.
Murphy married Carolyn Smith in August of 1963. Together they raised four children: Paige Busby Huggs (Greg) of Bryant, Arkansas, Robin Busby Ceniceros (Andy) of Camden, Arkansas, Twins - Kevin Busby (Jennifer) of Mobile Alabama, and Keith Busby (Lisa) Bryant, Arkansas. He was a grandfather to 7 grandchildren (the love of his life): Brody Busby, Jordan Busby, Lindsey Busby, Cole Ceniceros, Brooks Ceniceros, Leslie Huggs, and Lauren Huggs. Several nieces and nephews: Maribeth Pool, Jeff Dickson, Bruce Hobbs, Lynn Mulligan, and Libby Hobbs.
Murphy had a remarkably interesting life. He graduated from Marianna High School in 1960, spent 1.5 years of college at Arkansas State University of Jonesboro Arkansas, 20 years managing and owning three restaurants, and finally, the last 25 years of his career was spent traveling across North America as an owner and operator of a tractor-trailer business where he met many good people and built wonderful friendships.
Bruce was best known for his famous BBQ, passion for gardening, telling tall tales of his many travels, and lastly his big smile that he always shared with friends and families. Knowing his Lord and Savior was his top priority along with his wife, children, grandchildren, and dogs.
