Karen was born in Woodbury, New Jersey on April 18th, 1956, daughter of the late Joseph Flynn Sr. and Blanch Alcott Flynn. Karen was a homemaker, a retiree of FMC of Somerset, Kentucky, and attended Saint Mildred's Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Karen was survived by her loving husband, Robert Gillespie; four daughters, Jessica Gillespie, Katherine (and Chris) Hisle, Christine Gillespie, and Shannon Gillespie; one brother, Tom (and Dianne) Flynn; three sisters, Judy (and Jim) Moran, Faith Fitz (and Joseph) Simmons, and Jane (and Bob) Mayo; three grandchildren, Alexis, Rylee, and Emma; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Flynn and Blanch Flynn; and two brothers, John Flynn and Joseph Flynn Jr.
Private services were held on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Burial was in the Southern Oaks Cemetery in Somerset, Kentucky.
