Chester Kolmeier passed away on January 17, 2018, after a brief illness, at the age of 100. He was born December 12, 1917, to Wm and Emilie Kolmeier in Fredericksburg, TX. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth Wehe Kolmeier and daughter Sharon Kolmeier of Bulverde, numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family in Youngstown, NY. Chester was preceded in death by his parents; Ruths' parents Harry and Linda Wehe; 4 brothers Arthur, Edger, Eugene and Werner; and, also, Jerry Ianni.

He grew up on a farm in Eckert, Texas and graduated from Fredericksburg High School. Chester served in WWII. He retired in 1982 after working for over 30 years as a salesman for Alamo Hardwoods in San Antonio. He was a member of Bulverde Lions Club and was awarded the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from Lions International. Over the years, Chester enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, playing cards and dominos, bowling, woodworking, frequenting area casinos in NY and traveling. He also loved spending time at his second home in Youngstown, NY, where he was the Honorary Grand Marshall in their annual parade last year.

Chester will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at Kronkosky Place, 17 Old San Antonio Rd, Boerne, TX, on Saturday, March 31, at 11:00am. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Bulverde, TX.
