Ora Lee was born August 5, 1947 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Austin Dale and Hazel Furr. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School and then began a long and successful career with Southwestern Bell. She retired as a second line manager in 2001 after many years of dedicated service.
After retiring, Ora Lee co-founded a private Christian school, Handley Baptist Christian Academy, which later became Hope Works Christian Academy. She mentored countless children and their families, guiding them throughout their lives. She was a beloved beacon of light, hope, and love to many people. Ora Lee was a devoted military wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed by everyone.
Ora Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Austin Dale and Hazel Furr; and sisters, Lorraine Parham and Sybil Jennings.
Survivors: husband of over 40 years, Joseph Brown; children, Richard D. Evans, II, Ryan D. Evans and wife, Lori, and Jenny Warren and husband, Peyton; grandchildren, Richard D. Evans, III, Emily Gayle Evans, and Garrett Dale Evans; sisters, Nita Alexander and husband, Harry, and Oleta Willoughby; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends, and a loving church family.
