Dorothy Beyale Dempsey, was a homemaker and she wove rugs to support herself and family. She loved to go different places. She traveled with her daughter LaBerta to Montana, Idaho, Texas for various church related activities. She traveled to a church camp meeting in Oklahoma with Living Waters Assembly of God. She flew into Seattle, Washington with her son Leonard Dempsey and the traveled home through Oregon, California, and Arizona. Mom attended various churches in the area, seeking the Word of God in Navajo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Teddy L. Dempsey, deceased June 2004 and her son, Joe Begaye Jr, deceased August 1979.
She is survived by her daughters – Matilda (Carlos) Arviso; LaBerta Dempsey; her sons, Leo (Tonya) Dempsey and Leonard Dempsey. Her brother Eddie Beyale of Kirtland, NM. Her 3 sisters: Irene (Doolie) Cowboy of Gallup, N; Katy Battese, of St. Michael's, AZ; and Mary (Phillip) Manygoats, of Naschitti, NM. Her grandchildren: Carlita Begaye; Dwight and Ferrari Arviso; Naiyid (Ebee) Bahe; Beau Dempsey; Micah Dempsey; and Morgan Murphy. Her great-grand children: Jayden Arviso; Makayla Garcia; Gunner, Beau and Abigail Arviso; Jaicey, Emilie, Logan and Akira Begaye.
Funeral Service is 9:30 a.m on Wednesday July 28, 2021 at Bloomfield Assembly of God in Bloomfield, NM ( 211 East Oak Street).
Burial is Wednesday July 28 at Dempsey Family Plot, Chaco Canyon, NM
The family will be hosting a potluck meal on Saturday July 31, 2021 from 2 to 5 pm at her residence at #12 County Road 5066, Bloomfield, NM.
Pallbearers are: Carlita Begaye, Naiyid (Ebee) Bahe, Morgan Murphy, Micah Dempsey, Dwight Arviso and Brody J. Manygoats
