Betty M. Bridenbaugh, 79, of Martinsburg RR 1 went home to be with the Lord Wednesday morning at her home after an extended illness.
She was born in Henrietta, North Woodbury Township, a daughter of the late Walter and Charlotte (Koontz) Horton. She married Edwin B. Bridenbaugh Feb. 19, 1949, in Taylor Township.
Surviving are her husband; three sons: Glenn E. (wife, Gail) and David L. (wife, Geri), both of Martinsburg RR 1 and Roger L. (wife, Tammy) of Hoschton, Ga.; six grandchildren: Grant, Garth, Heather, Christian, Cody and Eric; five great-grandchildren: Austin, Jessa, Joshua, Maura and Kathryn; two brothers: Curtis of Riddlesburg and Lloyd of Timberlake, Ohio; and two sisters: Mona Bouslough of Hollidaysburg and Faye Knisely-Tones of New River, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Horton.
Mrs. Bridenbaugh was a member of Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, where she was a member of the Homebuilders Sunday school class, served as a deaconess, was a former Sunday school teacher and assisted in the nursery department.
Along with her husband, Ed, she owned and operated Bridenbaugh Orchards, Martinsburg RR 1.
She was a 1946 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School, Martinsburg. She enjoyed reading, helping at the Martinsburg Community Library and spending time with family and friends.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Sept 27, 2007, at John C. Bolger Funeral Home Inc., Martinsburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Church of the Brethren, Martinsburg, by Pastor Joel F. Nogle.
Private interment will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Memorial Church of the Brethren or the Martinsburg Community Library.
