Professional Hockey Player. A native of Wilcox, Saskatchewan, Canada, he played at the right wing position for nine seasons (1938 to 1942, 1944 to 1949) in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a member of five Stanley Cup championship teams (1942, 1945, 1947 to 1949 Maple Leafs) and was selected to the 1947 NHL All Star Team. During the 1941-1942 finals, Metz scored four goals and had three assists. His older brother Nick Metz was a professional hockey player and teammate with the Maple Leafs. He was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. In 172 career NHL regular season games, Metz scored 20 goals with 35 assists.
