Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jerome Franklin Scott; mother, Virginia Huffman and sister, June Fairburn.
A passionate, artistic personality, Doris was known for her love of animals, teaching the art of ceramics and her prize-winning bunnies and roosters. Making candies, canning jellies and cooking were things she so enjoyed and an absolute love for thrifting. Her love of life was like no other and she loved spending time with family and friends.
Those left to cherish her memories include her son, Keith Buckner and his wife, Robin of Covington, GA; her daughters, Karen Lingelbach and her husband, Charles of Candler, Keila Ollis of Candler, Karla Yates of Asheville and Joy Hughes and her husband, David of Candler; brothers, Richard Buckner, Robert Buckner, David Huffman and Dean Huffman; grandchildren, Douglas, Matthew, Shea, Aaron, Landon, Sonya, Ehrin, Paige, Katie, Joseph, Shelby, Jordan and Brennan and 20 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the Wells Chapel of Faith at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 1 Chapel of Faith Drive, Candler with Chaplain Anthony Rahaim officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2 p.m.
