Obituary

Mary Letta Lamb was born May 31, 1943 to parents Lucilla and Garvin Lamb. Mary was born in Wichita Falls, Texas where her father was stationed in the military. Mary graduated from Tryon High School in May 1961. Two weeks after graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Hicks. They were married at the courthouse in Chandler, Oklahoma. To this union was born a set of twins, Randy and Robin Hicks on November, 30, 1962.

Mary and Tim made their home in Luther, in 1964. She was a homemaker along with running a home daycare for 20 years. If you were a child in her care before school age, you would know you're A, B, C's, numbers, colors, full name, phone number and parents' names. Later in years we would say Mary's daycare was like Pre-K is today. Then Mary was a substitute teacher for Luther schools. She always took care of family and friends when they were sick if it was taking them for doctor visits, sitting with them or taking them a meal. She was in Eastern Stars for over 50 years and took care of her aunt and uncle for over 15 years.

Mary was preceded in death by her son, Randy Hicks, parents, Lucille and Garvin Lamb; brother, Garvin Lamb. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Tim Hicks; daughter, Robin and her husband David Sumner; grandchildren, Jenna and Kyle Gilliland, Kendra and Travis Corbin, Jeremiah Hicks, Jessica and Vanessa Hicks, Janet Hicks, Julie and Michael Wilcher; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Clayton Gilliland, Miles and Letty Corbin, Leonardo and Enzo Wilcher.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July, 29, 2021 at the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Hill officiating and interment following in the Luther Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
