Funeral services for Mrs. Rowland were held Sunday, May 28, 1989 at 2 PM at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. The Rev. James Gibbs officiated assisted by the Rev. Danny Tomlinson. Burial was in Brush Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Rowland, 72, was a resident of Route 1, Watertown (the Commerce Community) and was a homemaker. She died Friday evening, May 26, 1989 at Humana Hospital McFarland. She was born March 3, 1917 in smith County. Her parents were Steve S. Dawson and Eliza Allison Dawson. She was a lifetime resident of the community and a member of Grant Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Clifton S. Rowland; four daughters, Joyce Rowland of Watertown, Mrs. Ron (Jean) Hall of Alcoa, Mrs. Bill (Janice) Whitaker of Watertown and Janiece Rowland of Watertown; son-in-law, Jimmy Belcher; granddaughters, Mrs. Jeff (Lynn) Koehler of Knoxville, Regina Hall and fiance Robert Cochran of Alcoa, Rhonda House of Lebanon; and step grandson, Jeramye Whitaker of Paris. Pallbearers were Bill Whitaker, Jimmy Belcher, Charlie Reeves, Coolidge Wilkerson, Cordell Lawrence, Ricky Smith, Bill Butler and John Houts.
