Mr. Michael Whited, age 62, of the Miller Creek section of Swords Creek, Virginia, passed away Sunday (July 25, 2021) at his home. Born September 11, 1958 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of the late Earl Whited and Peggy Hale Whited. A lifelong resident of the area, he was a disabled coal miner and enjoyed farming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ferrell Whited.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Helen Ray Whited of the home; six children, Todd Whited and wife, Jennifer, Ricky Perkins, Brittney Dye and husband, Justin, Colton Ray, Shannon Kitts, and Chad Whited; three grandchildren, Rachel Whited, Carley Whited, and Amber Dye; great-granddaughter, Havenleigh Grace Dye and Brooklyn dye; four silbings, Harold Jake Whited, Marty Whited, Melissa Skeens, and Kathy Ward; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends also survive.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Whited Cemetery on Miller Creek Road, Swords Creek, Virginia with Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 PM with Rev. David Perkins and Rev. Ellis Whited officiating.
Pallbearers will be Ted Whited, Doug Whited, Claude Ray, Mark Ray, Russell Dye, Tim Ray, Logan McGlothlin, Greg Dye, Jerry Ray, and Dallen Dye.
Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Dye, Luke Street, Jamie Whited, Danny Whited, Brian Whited, and Dustin McGlothlin.
