Mrs. Briggs, born in Albany, had lived in Cochran since 1992. She was the daughter of the late Elliott Van and Wilma Springs Segroves and the wife of the late Howard Gene Briggs, Sr. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Albany Journal. Judy was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors are her children, Connie (Ronnie) Long of Cochran, Howard (Susan) Briggs, Jr. of Kathleen and Vanessa (Bob) Alman of Cumming; her grandchildren, Ashley (Jared) Carson, Miranda (Brad) Wells, Corey Hewitt, Nick (Ashley) Briggs, Amanda Wise, Jack Briggs, Gabbie Bowman, Eva Bowman, Emily (Caleb Parrish) Alman and Josh Alman; seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, Sonny (LaMerle) Segroves of Sycamore; her sister, Jean Register of Macon; several nieces and nephews.
The family is at 192 Lucas Road, Cochran and will greet friends from 2:00 P.M. until time for the service Tuesday at Mathis Funeral Home.
