Honea Path – Jim Austin "Papa" Vaughn, 84, widower of Barbara Hill Vaughn, died Sunday, July 25, 2021 at his home.

Born in Honea Path, he was a son of the late Robert Marion and Margie McCurry Davis Vaughn. He had formerly attended Broadmouth Baptist Church. He was retired from Flour Daniel after 40 years at the Monsanto Plant in Greenwood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an avid farmer and loved gardening. He was an amazing turtle hunter, and loved the outdoors.

Surviving are his daughter, Margie Vaughn Palmer (Dale Morgan) of Honea Path, three grandchildren, Kacey, Crystal, and Zachary, and three great grandchildren, Dakota, Alyssa, and Coltin.

In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by three brothers, William "Bud" Vaughn, Robert Marion "Noonie" Vaughn, and Charles Ray "Coot" Vaughn, and a sister, Thelma Frances Vaughn Bagwell.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at the Garden of Memories with Rev. Billy Slatten officiating.
