A funeral service will be held at Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029 on Friday July 19th, 2019 at 6:00pm. Friends and relatives may visit on Friday from 3 to 7pm.
Born in Jersey City, NJ he was a life-long resident of Harrison. He was a Case Worker for the State of New Jersey for many years. Prior to that, Philip served his country in the US Army, during the Korean War and eventually retired from the military after 29 years of service.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 282, Sgt. Wm. Sawelson VFW Post 340 and the Harrison, E. Newark Elks #2326, all located in Harrison. Philip received his BA in Economics at Farleigh Dickinson University in 1960.
He is survived by his wife Janet, Children Susan Kunkel and her husband, Gary and William P. Becker, Grandchildren, Andrew Becker and Jonathan and Joshua Kunkel, Daughter-in-law Kathy Taft and a cousin, Gary Klophaus.
