Mrs. Elizabeth Jane "Lib" Taylor Burgess was born August 2, 1917 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late George Gilbert Taylor and Rosanna Jane Misenheimer Taylor. She attended Winecoff School. Mrs. Burgess was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. She was a retired nursing assistant at the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital.
Following her retirement, Mrs. Burgess was a private duty sitter for many people. She enjoyed going to auctions and meetings friends and family for dinner. Mrs. Burgess enjoyed helping and visiting sick people. She was always there to help anyone that needed it.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Baxter Burgess; daughter, Carolyn "Candy" Twitty; three sons, George Baxter Burgess, Larry Donald Burgess and Allan Duncan Burgess; and sister, Grace Marie McRorie.
Mrs. Burgess is survived by two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Burgess of Kannapolis and Grace Marie Burgess of Rockwell; two sons, Paul "Red" Sylvester Burgess of Kannapolis and Levi Burgess of Rockwell; 18 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
