Bobby Tanner, 83, of Port Orange went to be with our Lord on August 4, 2018. Born August 14, 1934 in Alma, GA to the late Herbert and Loney Tanner, Bobby was affectionately known as Pepa to his family. Having served his country in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division, Bobby met his wife Peggy Peacock, and they were married in 1960. Daytona Beach became home for them in 1966, where they settled down and watched their children and grandchildren grow. Bobby had a love of animals, and truly embraced life on the farm, raising horses and mules. An owner of an auto retail service center in Port Orange, he also enjoyed NASCAR and was a huge Florida Gators Football fan. Left to cherish his memory are children: Scott (Michelle) Tanner of Winter Garden, FL, Tracy Caudill of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Brock (Jennifer) Tanner of Palm Coast, FL, Melodie Gessner of Jacksonville, FL., Timothy Sprinkle of Ponce Inlet and Bobby Ray Guenther. Additionally, Pepa will be missed by his fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was greeted at Heaven's Gate by his wife, Peggy Tanner and sister, Johnice Jones, who predeceased him in 2016. Visitation will be held Friday, 8/10/2018 from 6-8pm in the chapel of Shannon Maloney Funeral Home, 4084 Halifax Drive, Port Orange FL. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am Saturday 8/11/2018 at Spruce Creek Baptist Church, 1952 Taylor Road, Port Orange FL with Rev. Steve Loy officiating.
