Richard E. "Dick" Layman, 89, of Lakeview, OH, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, OH.

Richard was born on July 26, 1932, in Carey, OH, a son of the late Clarence and Lottie Layman. He was preceded in death by seven siblings.

Dick married Ruth Bryant in 1952 and she survives along with two sons, Richard E. "Rick" Layman, Jr. and Timothy G. Layman, and a grandson, Justin G. Layman.

Dick was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and Marshall University. He retired from Ashland Oil and Refining. Dick was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of Indian Lake Community Church, Indian Lake Moose Lodge #3615 and Prairie View Golf Club.

Pastor Karen Blackburn will begin funeral services at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point with military rites performed by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. Graveside services will be 12:30 pm, Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Community Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Deering, OH.
