Ellen May Frazier-Junken was born 28 May 1880 in Bonham, Fannin Co., Texas. She came to the Phoenix, Maricopa, Arizona area in 1918 with her husband Walter Alexander Junken and her four children at the time, Maxie Pat, Eula Mae, Hester Lee and infant son Harlan (Harley) Mike. It was soon after that young Harlan succumbed to bronchial pneumonia due to influenza in the early months of 1919. The couple went on to have two more children, Bonnie in 1920 and Jessie in 1922, however the couple separated sometime in the early 1930's and they lived apart the remainder of their lives but never divorcing. Walter's death certificate lists him as married and May Junken as his wife.
Ellen went by the name of May most of her life and was a long time resident of Phoenix, Maricopa Co., AZ until her death in 1972.
