Retired farmer and Grand Detour Township road commissioner for 24 years died Tuesday in his home.
Survived by five daughters Mrs. Vileta Smallwood and Gladys Hackbarth, both of Dixon, Mrs. Leona Smith, Amboy, Mrs. Olive Adolph, Grand Detour, and Mrs. Ethelyn Anderson, of Niles; two sons, Claire, of Rock Falls, and Wilbur, of Chadwick; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Emma Plautz, Rock Falls; and two brothers, Henry, of Dixon, and Frank, of Sterling.
