Funeral Service for Mike Powell, 52, of Decatur, will be Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 3:00PM at Life Church in Hartselle, Alabama with Pastor Chris Eubanks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be at Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 25, from 1:30PM – 3:00PM at Life Church.
Mr. Powell died on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born on March 19, 1969 in Clarke County to Leon and Nancy Powell. Mr. Powell was an engineer at Technicolor.
Mike grew up in Grove Hill, Alabama and had countless friends from everywhere. He never met a stranger and was known for his infectious laugh and massive hugs. He was an encourager and an inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. He lived and loved well.
Mike served as a director at Life Source, an addiction treatment center. He had found freedom in Christ, and his greatest desire was to help others overcome struggles and experience the love of God. Working with close friend Robin Ladner, he made a tremendous impact in the lives of many people.
Mike leaves behind a family that he dearly loved:
Two Precious Daughters: Lexi Powell and Kylie Powell.
One Granddaughter: Ayla Peterson, one week old
Parents: Leon and Nancy Powell
One Sister: Gina Skipper (Scott)
One Nephew: Cory Skipper
Special Friend: Vickie Self
Pallbearers: Tony Barnes, Coleman Davis, Nathan Ladner, Larry Joe Smith, Rendell Drummond, Cory Skipper, Michael Ponter and Adam Carter.
