Eugene Daniel Lewis, 91, of Danville, passed away on July 22, 2021 at his residence. He was born on October 18, 1929, son of Frank Edward Lewis, Sr. and Thelma Vaughan Lewis. He spent all of his life in the Danville area. He was a farmer and worked for Dan River Mills until his retirement.
On December 14, 1949, he married Betty Jo Benson Lewis, who died on August 18, 2020. He was also predeceased by a son, Larry Gene Lewis, Sr. He was the last survivor of his generation.
Survivors include his daughter, Judy Stephens and husband Tim; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Burial will be in Highland Burial Park.
