He was a native of Toombs County and lived all of his life in Cedar Crossing. He was a farmer, worked with Rosebud Manufacturing for fifteen years and with Miller Septic Tank for twenty years. He attended Smyrna United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, woodworking, and traveling to the mountains. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Fowler and Ella Faye NeeSmith Fowler; and siblings, Douglas Fowler, Amy Fowler Adams, and H.J. Fowler.
His surviving family includes his wife of sixty-two years, Joan Claxton Fowler; four children, Reverend Robbie Fowler and wife Peggy of Cedar Crossing, Rusty Fowler and husband Stephen of Orlando, Florida, Tammy Crawford and husband Robert, and Woody Fowler and wife Tabitha, all of Cedar Crossing; one sister, Sandra Fowler Cooper and husband Don of the Rackettown Community; one sister-in-law, Frances Dowd and husband Buddy of Riverdale; seven grandchildren, Ashley Fowler Kersey and husband Lee, Jamie Fowler Carroll and husband Fate, Marli Crawford, Taylor Crawford, Owen Crawford, Joanie Fowler, and Caroline Fowler, all of Cedar Crossing; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, July 25th, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Watkins and Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Crossing Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
